A MiG-23 fighter jet crashed on 13th of August 2023 during the performance. Two occupants were ejected from the jet by using safety precautions before it crashed. this incident happened on the 25th anniversary of Thunder Over Michigan Air show.

During the performance of Thunder Over Michigan air show the MIG – 23 Fighter jet has crashed. While this incident happen there was the pilot and the back seater in the jet and fortunately they parachuted before the jet crashed. The aircraft crashed in to the nearby apartment complex.
Occupants ejection & safety
Authority said “The pilot and back seater successfully ejected from the aircraft before the crash” Occupants were parachuted from the jet near south Willow Run Airport and both individuals were landed safely on Belleville Lake. Fortunately they were safe and didn’t get any serious damage.
Emergency response & precaution
Local authorities and responders were quickly responded to the crashed. Van Buren Township supervisor Kevin McNamara said that both occupants was transported to near by hospital as a precaution.
No ground inguries
Also nobody near the apartment complex was injured by the air crash and it structed some unoccupied vehicles. This incident highlighted the planning and organizing quality of the organizing team.
Conclusion
While celebrating there 25th anniversary The Thunder Over Michigan said they had to stopped the show that had organized for two days because of this air crashed. This incident highlighted the value of well trained occupants and well organized event to reduce the minimum of damage though there was a serious emergency.
